Year 5 Stem Leadership

Fullbrook Primary STEM Leader Interviews at Brooklands Museum On Wednesday 28th November, 14 year 5 children attended the Fullbrook Primary STEM Leader Interviews at Brooklands Museum. John Hutton, a Brooklands volunteer, gave them a tour of record breaking cars exhibited at the museum and the chance to sit in a formula I car. The children then interviewed 4 STEM ambassadors working in a science, technology, engineering or mathematical field. Roger Hoyle, a representative of the Bloodhound Super Sonic Car project showed exciting videos of the preparations for the land speed record attempt and hosted a question and answer session. The participants completed their STEM leader awards as well as finding out more about the British attempt to travel at over 1,000 miles per hour in a car. The event was organised by Fullbrook sixth formers, including students who were previously at WBJS, as part of their volunteering for Duke of Edinburgh Gold.
